Privacy Policy
Introduction
Trackdown (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you use the Trackdown mobile application for iPhone (the “App”) and when you visit our website at this domain (the “Site”).
Our approach is straightforward: we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. All information you create in the App remains on your device.
Summary
- We do not collect personal data through the App or the Site.
- We do not operate user accounts, analytics services, or advertising networks.
- Your events, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your iPhone.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Information We Do Not Collect
Trackdown is designed to function without collecting personal information. We do not request, gather, or receive data such as your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any other personally identifiable information through the App or the Site.
Because we do not collect personal data, we also do not create profiles, perform behavioral tracking, or build advertising audiences based on your use of Trackdown.
Information Stored on Your Device
When you use the App, the content you create—including event names, dates, categories, recurrence settings, reminder preferences, pinned events, and appearance settings—is saved locally on your iPhone using on-device storage provided by Apple’s operating system.
This data is not transmitted to our servers. We do not maintain a central database of your events or settings. If you delete the App or erase your device, this locally stored information may be removed in accordance with your device settings and backup preferences.
Widgets and App Extensions
Trackdown offers Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that display information from your events. To allow the App and its widgets to share data on the same device, Trackdown uses an Apple App Group—a secure, on-device container accessible only to Trackdown and its extensions on your iPhone.
Data shared through the App Group remains on your device and is not sent to us or to any third-party service operated by Trackdown.
Notifications
If you enable event reminders, Trackdown schedules local notifications on your device through Apple’s notification framework. Reminder content is derived from information you have already stored locally in the App.
We do not receive the content of your reminders, and notification delivery is handled entirely by your device and Apple’s system services.
The Site
The Site is a static informational website. It does not require you to create an account, submit forms, or provide personal information to view its content.
We do not use cookies, analytics pixels, or similar tracking technologies on the Site to collect information about your browsing activity. We do not embed third-party advertising or social media trackers on the Site.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process limited technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) in server logs for operational and security purposes. Trackdown does not use this information to identify you or to build user profiles.
Third-Party Services
If you download the App from the Apple App Store, your purchase and download are subject to Apple’s terms and privacy practices. Apple may collect information in connection with your App Store account and device in accordance with its own privacy policy. Trackdown does not receive your payment information or App Store account details from Apple.
Apart from standard platform services provided by Apple in connection with iOS and the App Store, Trackdown does not integrate third-party services that collect your personal data on our behalf.
Children’s Privacy
Trackdown is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because we do not collect personal data, no special parental consent process is required for use of the App or the Site under applicable privacy laws such as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Your Rights and Choices
Because your data resides on your device, you retain full control over it. You may review, edit, or delete your events and settings at any time within the App. You may disable notifications in the App or in your iPhone Settings. You may remove the App and its associated data from your device at any time.
If you are located in a jurisdiction that grants additional privacy rights (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), please note that Trackdown does not process personal data as defined by those laws because we do not collect such data in the first place.
Data Security
Information stored on your device is protected by the security features of iOS, including device encryption and access controls such as passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. We encourage you to keep your device software up to date and to use a strong device passcode.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App or the Site after any update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised policy.
